A Celebration for Chad
In honor of GCCB Conductor and Librarian Chad Geedey's many years of dedicated service to the band, the band's officers secretly commissioned world-renowned composer James Swearingen to compose a piece. The result was the fabulous March Jubilee which the band covertly rehearsed a week before it's presentation to Chad on September 11, 2012. Professor Swearingen graciously agreed to present the composition to Chad in person at a surprise party that for all Chad knew began as our typical Tuesday rehearsal. After the band members cajoled Swearingen into conducting the band through the piece, so Chad could hear it, cake and merriment were had by all.
